My First Blog

Hello! My name is Marilyn and some of you may already know me as your crazy English teacher.  I decided to make a blog and share my crazy ideas and questions during these insane times.  The quarantine has changed our entire life and it seems as if it has all gone upside down.  However, we can always manage ways to use our time to create new ways of living and share ideas to inspire hope, happiness, and curiosity.  For me this is a space for ideas to flow...questions to be asked...and sharing feelings openly.  I invite you to embark on this journey to discover new things with me and that we may share a delightful moments where lightbulbs illuminate in our minds and our hearts.

    Marilyn, I love your blog and all your videos. You know you are a special teacher to me, I know you since I was six. Now at age 11 I still have a great connection with you. Thank you for beiing so kind, gentle and loving with me and all of my student partners, I'm sure they think that about you, as well. Hugs and kisses.

      Ohhh Sabela!!! Thank you!! <3 I love you guys so much and miss you and think about you guys everyday. I hope I've transmitted my passion for my language and that you can all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed giving classes to all of you. You are missed sooo much and I can't wait to see you all again!

Tea with Beatrix

Beatrix Potter´s paintings and stories still capture the attention of many today.  There´s something about imagining a secret life of animals similiar to humans that makes it all the more fascinating.  I remember the first time my sister gave me one of her books.  It was " The Roly Poly Pudding " also known as "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers"which was about a very naughty kitten and a family of mice that decided to eat him.  It was so scandelous for me because it is usually the other way round...you know!  The cat usually eats the mouse! However, in this story the mice planned to eat the kitten.  I thought it was hillarious.  All the characters were really adorable and they all had really great stories. I started to picture myself and neighbors as animals dressed up in Victorian era clothing with their personalities and it was all really fun.  If you were an forest animal what would you be?  I bet most of you know the 2018 movie " Pet...

We are one.

Be a rainbow in someone´s cloud-Maya Angelou Here is a woman who has inspired me throughout my life; a woman who knew suffering as a person of color in a world of bigotry, and whose deep words have inspired many to rise above and beyond.
